BONES RISING is a project which comprises the development of a theatre production with a participatory approach. The primary target group are children and adolescents aged 8 to 16 years.

BONES RISING take use of the famous Namibian folk tale »Human Bones«, in order to create an innovative and contemporary form of storytelling by using physical theatre, sound design and new media such as stills, motion visuals and augmented reality techniques.

The project is implemented in 2021 Namibia and early 2022 in Cameroon and envisages a close corporation of Namibian, German, Zimbabwean and Cameroonian partners.

The artistic result illustrates a cross-disciplinary perspective, allowing a corporation of manifold analytical practice as well as artistic experiences in the framework of »New Media Anthropological Diplomacy«.

The overall objective is to tackle fundamental historical ignorance that is amplifying traumas such as Genocide, Slavery, Poverty and Displacement by developing audience-friendly and low-threshold storytelling techniques based on an innovative and participatory interface.
